12 INDIANA FANTASY ASSN. PROPOSED The state of Indiana, in regards to things pertaining to fandom has been notoriously inactive. This situation, thanks to Ted Dikty, of Ft Wayne Indiana, editor of Fantasy Digest, is soon to be remedied. Ted's idea of an organization of Indiana fans, is well on it's way to becoming materialized. The proposed organization will be known henceforth as the Indiana Fantasy Association. The general aim of the IFA is to develop the casual Indiana fan into an active one; and the immidiate aim is to create interest among then in the CHICON. This is the first time that the midwest has ever attempted to stage a conclave of fans, and the Indiana fans must take a big part in the show. If the fans in the state do not respond in helping make the CHICON the largest and most successful ever held, then we mus expect to remain as we have been until now; merely scattered, fans with a lackadaisical interest. With this issue of Pluto, we are acting as official organ of the IFA, for the purpose of introducing it, and helping in it's organization. After this issue we will relinquish the title of official organ, and a new mag will appear as the 0.0. of the Ass'n. Whether the club sponsoring Pluto, will publish the new mag, is as yet undecided. The IFA mag will likely consist of ten or twelve pages, with articles and trivia concerning Indiana fans, clubs, etc, and general fan material, such as book reviews, fan fiction, etc etc. Ted states that inasmuch as the idea originates mainly with himself, he will serve as director; but only in that official capacity during the period of the IFA's formation. There will be no membership fee until the ass'n is well under way, and the membership sufficiently advanced, officers elected, and the members have voted for or against such a fee and the amount. The IFA will be strictly democratic, and all offices will be elective, with the possible exceptions of the editors of the official organ, librarian, and the public relations man-
