16 PLUTO WHO SAID THAT? From Martinez, California Dear Eds, Not much time, just a line to say I received Pluto. This issue is very much improved over the lasyt, I like it----Paul's Space Suit was good. Heh! Best thing about it though, is the many colors, keep this up! By the way, how do you get so many colors? Do You use a different stencil for each one? I must say 4e's joke was corny. Tchtch 4e... Yours Tom Wright ********************************************************* From Hagerstown, Md. The second Pluto came the other day; and you really have something there. The most striking thing about it is the art work, which is good and the colored ink which is even better. This is the first time I ever remember seeing more that two colors on one fan mag page; unless I'm radically wrong you've set a new record. The back cover's especially ingenious, and not just because you used the word Spaceways. One thing it shows very plainly too, is the absence of fan mags over huge territories, and the large numbers of them in other places. For instance in the huge area between the west coast and Chicago, which covers over a thousand miles each way, theres only one city in which exist fan publications. Something ought to be done about that; on the other hand there are over dozen in just the metropolitan area. I'm not quite sure whether Ackerman's Joke From Another Planet is genius or not; give me five years and I'll decide for sure. The fan mag reviews were quite generous, also I hope that you continue the letter section, since I find that one of the most interesting parts of any magazine, fan or pro, funtasy or non fantasy. I like your "Bright Stuff By Children." One suggestion: a slightly better grade of paper would help the mag a lot. Looks as tho you've used this time, regular dime store typing paper, which isn't up to snuff for mimeoing. Nevertheless you've a fine magazine, and if you keep it up awhile you might get twentyfive subscribers at that! For it takes time and publicity, and the only way to get plenty of publicity without paying high prices for it, is to issue a good mag regularly. Sincerely, Harry Warner Jr. ********************************************************* From Cumberland, Ohio All in all it is a fine magazine. Miss Lucille Martin ********************************************************* From Hollywood, Cal. Fellows--- # 2 PLUTO, SENSATIONAL! 4e. ********************************************************* From Madison College, Tenn. Pluto arrived this morning. 'Tis only my laziness, well known to correspondents, that prevented me from subscribing long, long ago. Pluto, itself; notall bad. It is firstly, somewhat (?) different. Secondly it is interesting, strange as that may seem. Cover long about average. Editorial quite good. The poem frankly was lousy. Hornig's
