FAN CENSUS-------------------- I am very happy to say that the FAN CENSUS has really caught on and is going fine. In the original group mailed out to all fandom there have been well over 60% returned. This CENSUS does not stop here but will carry on so that an up-to-date and accurate account of fans can be KEPT WITH YOUR HELP. If each fan will make a habit of dropping me a post card with his new address every time he moves, then "FAN" can serve as an information bureau for all fandom and be of great help to fans all over the world. I shall have on my desk at all times a stack of post cards which I can address in a moment to send the latest address of any fan on record to enquirers. Maybe YOU. Thus you will get a speedy answer. The Directory of Fandom (under the "FAN" banner) will appear more regularly in the future, possibly quarterly and additions re-checks each month. That is changes and additions and eletions sent. After the appearance of the NEW FAN CENSUS DIRECTORY if you know of a name that is not listed please send me his address and I shall mail him a questionaire immediately and as soon as that person returns it to me he shall be listed in the Directory. I hope that it will be possible for you to answer all the questionaire and send it in immediately. I am not including postage for the return of the questionaire as I believe each interested fan will be glad to spend the three cents to return it. If I sent it out there would be a cost of almost $10.00 on the original mailing where 3 cents to an individual is an insignificant sum. If you do not have the time to send in a completed questionaire, please send it in with the first 10 questions answered. If each person cooperates he will be doing himself as well as the Census, a favor. In this issue of "FAN" I have included a copy of the questionaire so that you may have it in your files. I have also included a return envelope which will save you time. I would appreciate it if you would fold the questionaire that you send in AS ILLUSTRATED BELOW; Thank you for your cooperation and write me any time with your suggestions or questions and I shall be glad to talk them over with you.
