THE SCIENCE FICTION FAN 9 Correspondent which will be edited by corwin Stickney and Willis conniver, The Scientifician whose editor will be Vernon Harry and don't forget Scientifiction, the magazine from England. THE FORECAST By OLON F. WIGGINS The December edition of "Astounding" lines up exactly as follows: W. VanLorne, author of "Strange City" (Jan. Vol. 16, No. 5, 1936), has a sequel to it titled "World of Purple Light". Termaine calls this novel-length story a power sequel to the original yarn..."Tryst in Time", a novelette. The third by C.L. Moore in "Astounding"...N. Schachner has "Infra-Universe" called by Tremaine, Schachner's first two-part serial, which is in error. He had a two part serial "I Am Not God" in the October and November issues of "Astounding"...The short stories go like this. "Frankenstein Unlimited", a yarn of the machine age gone amuck by H.A. Highstone... "The Fourth dynasty" by R.R. Winterbotham - Followed by M.F. James' "The Expedition from Kytm"....F.B. Long, Jr., returns after an absence of seven months with "The Flame Midget"...There will be two science features in this number. The seventh of J.W. Campbell, Jr.'s series on the Solar System, and "Fourth Dimensional Possibilities" by Harry D. Parker, A.S.M.E., S.O.A.E., etc...."The Incredible Invasion" ends in this issue. Hurry back M. Leinster....Tremaine says he has no intentions of changing cover artists. Seems as tho a change of cover illustrators would be a welcome relief after three years of "Browns" nightmares...From someone who should know I learn that E.E. Smith's next story is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 1937, which means that we should read it in the fall issue of the same year. If the title is not changed between now and its appearance, it will be called "The Galactic Patrol". ...The "Feb." edition of "T.W.S." goes like this. Four novelettes - "The Ice Entity", J. Williamson...J.R. Fearn has his first "Wonder" yard, titled "Brain of Venus"..."Invaders From the Outer Suns" is F.B. Long, Jr.'s effort... and "Protoplasmic Station", by P. Ernst.... The short stories following will definitely go in this issue. "Black Fog", D. Wandrei... "A Million Years Ahead", by E. Hamilton... and "Moon of Mad Atavism", H.K. Wells...There will be one or two more shorts, probably "The Alchemy of Outer Space" .. and "The Renegade" by D.L. James and J.H. Haggard, respectively...Editor, Leo Margulies, says "T.W.S." will go monthly just as soon as the exigencies of publication permit. A MEMORY OF PAST GLORY By CLAIRE P. BECK AS I REMEMBER IT, there was once a man who lived in New York. He was known to his friends (and enemies alike) as Hugo Gernsback. Now Hugo Gernsback was a publisher of a magazine of a light scientific nature, concerning themselves mainly with the experimental aspects of electricity and radio. it is not overly strange, in view of this, that a few pieces of fiction -
