PARADOX from the editor's typewriter ****************************** In the first issue of Paradox (which was hectoed) we promised that we'd be mimeo'd this issue. We've kept that promise: we're mimeo'd now. Not only that, but we've increased the number of pages to almost twice the number in our last issue. Next issue, we hope to inaugurate further improvements. We're planning on using two, perhaps 3, colors in our next issue. We also have a letter department this issue, due to the fact that many fans wrote to us. Hope we havean even greater response for this issue. By the way, thanx are due Harry Jenkins for the latter department title. Sure, it's a pun, so what? We're still a bit confused as to policy. We were going to run an all time-travel mag. But we're not very sure that this would be wise. A mag. printing time-travel fiction exclusively, would soon become boring. So, starting with our fourth issue, each issue of paradox may be devoted to a special branch of stfiction. Let's say, Space Travel. As for the others, we'll decide on them later. Letters of comment will help us decide on what we'll use after this. In each issue, we'll announce what type of material we'll want for the following issue (or issues). Does this meet with your satisfaction? At present, we need material of any kind. Fiction of any type or length, on any stfictional subject. Ditto articles or poetry. We'd like to have some cartoons, fillers, or cover designs submitted. Any sort of materials. The more unusual it is, the better; just send it on. (next page)
