18 PARADOX a brief message from: Harry Warner, Jr., 303 Bryan Place, Hagerstown, Maryland A good first issue. I like very much your little drawings, and the devotion to time travel wasn't a bad idea. Is Robert Avery brother to Skowhegan former fan James Avery? (Nope--Ed.) There are some flaws in his article--why wouldn't a time machine be visible during the voyage? The propulsion energy wouldn't necessarily harm the time-traveler--it takes lots of power to move a modern steam locomotive! Washington's article hardly complete, but well-done. Hektoing good enough; more pages next time, I hope. Best of luck! and: Raymond Washington, Jr., Live Oak, Florida Best feature by far is the artwork, which surpasses Harry Warner's SPACEWAYS. This Walt guy is really good. FROM THE EDITOR'S TYPEWRITER was all right for a first attempt. Cut of the typewriter was excellent. I presume this Walt guy did that, too. My had goes off to a fine illustrator. Your typing could be improved, Frand, but for a first issue, you did very good. Congratulations! THE VOYAGE OF PROF SCHMERTZ. Storry was utterly tripish, terrible--but worth it for the pics, which were grand! ****************************************************** which cleans up the letters for this issue--and how--ed. ****************************************************** * * * * * * *Still have some copies of the first issue of paradox for 10¢ eacj wjo;e tjeu ;ast/ (meaning: 10¢ each, while they last.)**
