8. If my information is correct, Mr. Williams has written six novels of this type to date: War in Heaven 1930 Many Dimensions 1931 Greater Trumps 1932 Place of Lions " Shadows of Ecstasy 1933 Descent into Hell 1939 I have a strong suspicion that the average fiction reader would probably be bewildered by Williams; would very likely find a great part of each of his stories to be incomprehensible. Even veteran readers of fantasy have found difficulty in following the various sequences and in interpreting different phases of the plots. And yet, Williams has the happy faculty of being able to combine the occult adventures with present day people and scenes. As one reviewer stated, "he succeeds in making the improbable likely and the impossible credible." To readers who want their intellect stimulated and their emotions stirred, I highly recommend some of the books listed above. Try War in Heaven first, followed by Place of Lions. They will prove to be a welcome relief from the stereotyped and tiresome stories appearing for years in many of the pulp magazines. **********
