III Received a letter from Rose while she was in camp. Guess she likes Army life ok. Gripes, [all?]! What a beautiful day it has been. Warm as heck and no wind. I even got a little tan. It would be no trouble at all to get spring fever. This is the kind of weather where every guy should have a gal. I've been playing a little ball on our time of. Having quite a time trying to play third base. Lots of fun anyway. All these French farmers are busy with their spring work. They drive oxen and my gosh but they are slow. I could make a real bit here with a tractor. It is really a wonderful night. Warm and the stars are very bright. Sorry, no moon. Just about
