April 30, 45 Dearest Evelyn, I seem to be pretty much on my own tonight as I'm the only one in the tent right at present. Sure seems quite for a change. Things have been going along as usual here. We are still taking the "Army Style" rest. Guess that stuff will be thrown at us as long as we are in the army. By the way, in about a week it will be the end of my second year of this life. Believe me, I'm not looking forward to another two years. I did break out of the old grind last week and got to town on pass. Didn't do a great deal, but I did have my
