II understand why I haven't written. I didn't receive mail all during this time so it worked both ways. All in all it took about two weeks. All along the railroads were ruins. Wrecked trains and cars, blown bridges and towns. Tanks and artillery pieces were sitting in the fields. The most moving sight I saw was when we passed three graved out in a field marked by a small cross with the soldiers helmet hung on it. It was certainly a picture of finality.
