Take the news this letter brings plus my best wishes for a birthday present Evelyn, its all I can give you now. I just reread everything I'd written and it sounds so old and stuffy in places. I tried my best honey, poor as it may be. Love is a easy word to say, but hard to find and I want you to know that I've found it in you. I really must get a bath and then to bed. That doesn't mean I can't think about you, but rather that I'm just not writing down what I'm thinking. Goodnight Evelyn, I love you. All My Love, Carroll
