I go on guard at midnight tonight until daylight. Can't say that I'm looking foreward to that. One good thing about it is that I have pleasant things to think about though. You mostly or entirely I should say. Got a letter from the folks and the German rifle I sent home has gotten there already. Guess dad is really tickled. Also my lamp is on the way. In fact they sent two to make sure. What a pair they are. They are so darned afraid I'm going to do without something I might need. It would really be swell if you and Dotty could get an apartment so Ruth could stay with you. Honey,
