July 16, 1945 My Dearest Evelyn, It is already past my bed time, but I couldn't help writing at least a few lines. Its has already been a couple days since I've written. Got your July 10th letter today and also the little story about the "8-Ball." They really made good time. That really was quite a story even though it was a bit crazy. Nothing of much interest been going on. I'll start back with Saturday when I last wrote. Got up Sun. morning at 3:30 to go on guard. I was guarding a finance office. Wasn't much money there, just a few million dollars. Enough to get a good
