R. 7152 IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES MAY 26 (legislative day, March 30), 1964 Ordered to lie on the table and to be printed AMENDMENT Intended to be proposed by Mr. DIRKSEN (for himself, Mr. MANSFIELD, MR. HUMPHREY, and MR. KUCHEL) to H.R. 7152, an Act to enforce the constitutional right to vote, to confer jurisdiction upon the district courts of the United States to provide injunctive relief against discrimination in public accommodations, to authorize the Attorney General to institute suits to protect constitutional rights in public facilities and public education, to extend the Commission on Civil Rights, to prevent discrimination in federally assisted programs, to establish a Commission on Equal Employment Opportunity, and for other purposes, viz: Strike out all after the enacting clause and in lieu thereof insert the following: 1 That this Act may be cited as the "Civil Rights Act of 2 1964".
