With VD as the key problem, efforts were made to examine value and structural aspects with an equal emphasis on recommendations for immediate action. The 4 page report is being distributed. Results tabbed to date: formation of a speaker's bureau (of med. persons); arrangement of speaking engagements; design of public media education; more training of public school teachers; distribution of VD literature; and more aid for Free Medical Clinic are a few of the results. Pearl Zemlicka, Chmn. with Roger acting as convenor. Funded by help of Southeast Presbytery Christian Education Committee. SOCIETY FOR HEALTH AND HUMAN VALUES: annual meeting in Washington with Assn. of American Medical Colleges was attended by Roger and a number of persons from the University Medical College. An 8 page report is being distributed. Major changes are occuring in the philosophy and structure, and financing of health care training and delivery. Addresses by Senators Kennedy, Magnuson, and Rep. Rogers stressed government concern to make health care delivery a major issue. Health care as a basic right of every person is gaining wider acceptance. The Church could help lead by stressing God's love for the whole person and every person -- EQUALLY. KEYHOLE COMMITTEE: by invitation of Phil Jones we are cooperating in supporting the effort of the University to bring key high school students of minority backgrounds, to the University for a week-end visit. Sally assisting. RECOGNITION DINNER FOR PHIL: Phil, busyily working out of the President's Office and also helping write a grant for the National Humanities Fdn., will be the guest of the Local Board, Wednesday, January 26, 6:30P.M. at Stone Cellar, West Branch. We will all seek to give some token expression of the Church's gratitude to Phil for his outstanding leadership here in Campus Ministry for the past 10 years. In a real sense, we feel that he is merely shifting the locale of his ministry and extending it into other areas of higher education. *****MARGARET MEAD LECTURE: Friday, February 18, 8PM at the Union. Tickets are available by February 1, at 707 Melrose or Wesley Foundation. They go on sale at the Union February 14. Cost $1.50 - 75¢ for students with I.D.. We hope its a sellout... so don't wait too long. THE CHANGING FAMILY STRUCTURE WIRKSHOP , FEBRUARY 17-19. Indications are that we have a real winner - maximum registrations of 100 should be reached by February 1, Donna Sooby and committee are hard at work on final details.
