- 4 - JOHNSON COUNTY CITIZENS COMMITTEE ON ALCOHOLISM provides insight into and help for the number one drug problem. Roger is a member of the committee. WORSHIP IS WHERE YOU FIND IT, even in the Armory with the Boy Scouts, Roger Simpson the officiant. (The priestly services are still needed.) THE COMMUNITY-WIDE PENTECOST SERVICES COMMITTEE, will provide more of an opportunity for students to participate this year. An on-campus question and answer period with reception following is planned with Dr. Eugene Carson Blake. (The structures of the world cannot go unheeded. Phil Shively, the School of Religion and international students are involved in the planning.) MARRIAGE ISN'T COMPLETELY OLD FASHIONED, since Phil Shively has recently married three couples and four weddings are planned yet this spring. Much time goes into pre-marital counseling and the detailed planning of the services. (That is pastoral - but structural?!) LONG RANGE PLANNING evolves out of a full winter of meetings with the encouragement of the Commission's consultation. Many hours given by board members and staff. (that is looking at our own structure.) SEMINARY RECRUITERS: Several dinners with university academic heads, along with private meetings, were arranged. (Again it deals with the structure of the Church and the University, and the staff were involved.) SCRANTON REPORT, CARNEGIE COMMISSION REPORT: WHAT THE H__L HAPPENED TO THEM? was one of the frustrating questions raised by educators at the 27th Annual meeting of the American Association of Higher Education. (Structural ministry. Phil Shively attended.)
