Questions on "THE GENERATION GAP AND THE CHURCH" Page 3 Many young people turned off from the church are "turned on" by Christ...the Jesus Thing. What do you think of the "Jesus Movement?" Organized religion has been quite sexist (toward women, putting them in a minor role"....does the panel foresee any changes on the role of women in the church, organized religion? Comment on the Pope, who has appealed for peace in Ireland but has said nothing about Viet Nam. It seems that you are talking around the main point, that young people are searching for some purpose in life, that some are turning off on drugs and on to Christ. Would you please comment. Is it Christian for someone to go to Church and call himself a Christian and then hurt other people? How can young people look at the "wealth of the Church" and say, I believe in Christ, when Christ said to give to the poor, etc.? Man contends churches and "practiced religion in the false traditions of man rather than on the truth in the Bible." For example, many religious holidays are borrowed from pagan celebrations; Easter is a word for a pagan goddess; Sabbath should be on Saturday; only God deserves the title Reverend.
