SDS, Piller Suspended The campus chapter of Students for a Democratic Society and one of its members have been suspended by the University of Iowa. President Willard L. Boyd has notified Simon Piller, Highland Park, I11., liberal arts sophomore, that Piller is suspended from the university for one year as a result of his part in using campus facilities to advance SDS activities last winter while the chapter was under a previous suspension. The UI president, concurring with the findings and recommendations of a hearing officer, put a three year revocation of campus recognition on SDS. University officials said the charges against SDS and the student grew out of the use of campus facilities by a group called the Worker-Student Alliance for activities actually sponsored by SDS, which was in a period of nonrecognition on the campus.
