BAY AREA NEWS No. 1 strictly local news and the GGFS April 8 1. Tellus No. 7, out last month. Neatly mimeod, 13 pp. fair material, good pre-war paper, can be had for free from L.C. Smith, 475 A Eagle Ave. Alameda, Calif. by dropping a card or a letter, or contributing material. 2. Lethe No. 2 out a week ago. Mimeod. 16 pp. Good lithoid cover by Tom Wright, good material, pics. Can be had by asking Jack Riggs, 1620 Chestnut St. Berkeley, Calif. Free, but it badly needs material for No. 3, due in two months. 3. Stellarite No. 2 out last week. Hektoed, and a very good job of it too. Features reprints, this one being "I Robot" by Binder. Pubbed by John Cockroft, who is in the army, and is actually being turned out by friend George Caldwell. Subs or contribus can be sent to Caldwell at 1115 San Anselmo Ave. San Anselmo, Calif. or Walt Coslet, Box 6, Helena, Montana. Price is 10c 3 for a quarter. 4. Without Glee. No. 2 hektoed. Content: ahem! Can be had for nothing I guess, there is no price on this second issue; the first was for a nickel. Write Raj Rehm, 2837 San Jose Ave., Alameda, Calif. The GGFS got together last Sunday, April 7, for their first Postwar meeting. Present were John Cockroft, George Caldwell, Raj Rehm, Ziza Shramm, Bob Luehr, Everett Wyers, Joe Fortier, and Jack Riggs. Most of them arrived at Riggs' house about 2 o'clock, and left about 7 o'clock. Unexpected arrivals were John Cockroft and Joe Fortier. Cockroft, because is supposed to be in the hospital at Camp Beale Calif. Fortier because he was in Fresno only a couple of days before. However for health and business reasons, Fortier intends to move there, we're sorry to lose him. Ziza Schramm, femme fan, brought the sad news with her that she is moving to San Diego, Calif. Too bad, we like her, got a brain, that gal. Bob Luehr, who hails from Wisconsin, intends to be around here for quite some time. Yesterdays meeting was the first fan gab he'd ever attended. He (and everyone else) seemed to have a swell time so I imagine we'll be seeing more of him.
