PSFS News Page 16 JOHN V. BALTADONIS John V. Baltadonis was born very small and very young on February 7, 1921 A. D. Why, God only knows, for we have never been able to figure that out. He began school at the age of 5 1/2 and was a fairly good student. Graduated from Northeast High School, was fortunate enough to win a scholarship at Temple University. But he can't keep his eyes off all the pretty gals. Sort of a novelty to him, for Northeast was an all boys H.S. while Temple is, of course, co-educational. First became interested in Science fiction in 1933. Robert A. Madle and he have been fast friends since early childhood (Maybe they aren't out of that childhood yet) and at one time they issued a typewritten fan magazine with a circulation of three and a cover drawn in India ink. Had hopes of issuing a printed magazine, until the press was actually bought. (Anyone want to buy a good press? Adv.) He used to have a competition with Madle to see who could get the most letters printed in the readers' departments. He likes weird, adventure, and historical fiction, as well as essays. Other likes are swimming, baseball, football, ice cream, chocolate nut sundaes with two cents worth of nuts and cherries extra, the gals, puella, les femmes, coeds etc. Recently he started to smoke a pipe, and has accumulated five of them. He carries them all with him and takes his pick of them when he feels like smoking, and has experimented with a dozen different brands of tobacco. Madle# and Agnew have been smoking pipes for some time, and now even the dignified ex-director, Milton A.
