PSFS NEWS Page 17 Rothman, has been introduced to the vice[[?]] by the scoundrelly Baltadonis--he even lends MIlt his pipe. Milton H. Asquith is Philly fandom's most famous pipe smoker, however. His dislikes are few, but they are pretty definite. Wollheim, Michelism, spinach, and raucous swing music. His favorite authors are: Burroughs, Merritt, and the late Stanley G. Weinbaum. Favorite artists are Finlay, Paul, Wesso[[?]], Morey and Dold. Favorite magazines are Weird Tales, Thrilling Wonder, and Amazing. As for stories, there are a great many that he likes, but believes that "The Black Flame" by Weinbaum is one of the greatest science fiction stories ever written. In 1937 he formed a partnership with Oswald Train and the pair issued a number of fan magazines under the banner of Comet Publications. They were mighty successful with their publications for a long time, putting the Collector near the top of the heap of the fan magazines, and putting out Science Adventure Stories, which is known as one of the biggest and best fiction magazines ever issued by science fiction fans. Of late, however, Comet Publications has been shaking badly at the knees due to the lack of time Baltadonis has for work. The result is that the small publications have been dropped, PSFS News taken over by the club with Train as editor, the Collector has been suspended for a time, Science Adventure Stories will come out regularly and on schedule. And that is about all concerning J.V.B. at present. But mention may be made here that during the past couple of years he has become a hulking brute..........
