PSFS News Page 21 He has always gone in for writing in a minor way, collecting many rejection s lips, astonishing several English classes with unusual stories, and acting as Literary Editor of his college magazine. Right now, instead of looking for a job as he should, he is determined to crash the writing market, and is turning out one story after another trying to find the formula that will open the golden gates of the editorial office. Time will tell. He has never gone in very deeply for fan magazines, viewing never to publish one himself but succumbing when a certain argument in the FAPA attracted his attention, with the result that the Science Fiction Debater was born. He always liked the idea of the FAPA, as opposed to the multitudes of subscription fanmags, and was delighted to suddenly find himself official editor. Founder of the PSFS, he is one of the two charter members remaining on our lists. He has always been forward with ideas, doing much planning for conventions, and the designing of the proposed marionette show. He takes pride in noting that he has attended every convention so far, has been chairman of three, or at least two conventions and a conference, but attributes this not to any ability, but to the luck that Philadelphia is a convenient place for conventions, and that so far he has been the only one anxious to be chairman. Right now he is branching off to other big interests, such as music, good literature, photography, and ping pong, but he assure everyone that as long as he has a nickel with which to buy a back date magazine, he will remain a good science fiction fan.
