NEBULA THE FANTASY FAN RECORD WHOLE NUMBER 16 AUGUST 15, 1942 PAGE 15 PSFS MEETING RAINED OUT Thursday, the 13th, was found to be an unlucky night for holding a meeting of the PSFS. The change from Wednesday night had been made in hopes that it would enable more fans to come out, but the first try found the elements disapproving. About an hour before the meeting was to begin, a torrent of rain began, and thunder was so strong that it shook the houses. Bob Thompson arrived at JVB's at about 7:30 drenched through, & Johnny had to dry him out and put him into a dry shirt and shoes. In a few minutes, Rusty came thudding against the outer door and forced his way in out of the downpour. A telephone call resulted in the appearance of Jack Agnew just before 9:00. The three who had gotten in on time had spent the hour listening to classical music, but with Jack's arrival swing took over, so Rusty grabbed the latest TWS and started reading. Bob finally came over and he and rusty discussed a few of the recent pros. At about 9:20 it was decided that no others were coming, so it was called till next Thursday night at 8. LARRY SHAW UP IN ACTIVITY Besides his LEPRECHAUN, Larry is going to a co-editorship with de la Ree in putting out a mimeod SUN SPOTS to go for 5[[cent symbol]] an issue. A bike trip will soon take him to see Gerry and also Selma Green in Atlantic City. He plans a FAPA pub to go into the September mailing. Larry and Evans are coming along with the YEARBOOK, and hope to have it out soon. They are now waiting for listings of the Canadian pubs before making up the final dummy and starting to stencil. It will be about the same as it has been in former years, except that it will be larger. The price will remain at 20[[cent symbol]]. CUNNINGHAM VISITS COLUMBIA CAMP John Cunningham spent two days and nights with Harry Jenkins last week. They spent the time in see-FANTASIA, listening to records of the fans, and discussing magazines and fans. John queried Harry regarding FAPA membership and decided to join. Your editor had heard that Joe Gilbert had gone into the Navy, but Jenkins informed John it was the merchant marine. Although Cunningham did not reveal any other places he visited on his trip, he arrived home on Monday. STORY POPULARITY RESULTS After several tries, your ed has received enough opinions that he is able to announce that "Waldo" was the most popular story to hit the stands during July. There were not enough votes to determine the poorest story. Send your vote!
