FANTASIA 15 an imprisoning bottle. With the release of the towering giant, comes power. And so armed with magical weapons, the Thief sets out after the Vizier to render justice. In a unique and rather weird fashion, the Thief defeats the chief-of-state, and brings happiness to the lovers. The film is reported to be one of the most lavish ever produced. Huge sets of bizarre wonder dominate every scene. The power of the camera recreates Sabu's flying carpet and his magic bow and arrow with which the Vizier's army is conquered. Other features of this imaginative beauty are the Goddess of Light -- from which the Thief steals the All-Seeing Jewel -- the vast web of the Spider King -- in which Sabu had some thrilling adventures -- and many other scenes of fantastic splendor. With Korda's record of super-production, the promise of technicolor of unprecedented brilliance, the magical sparkle of the story, and the critical praise already booming the merits of the photoplay in all its aspects, "The Thief of Bagdad" is a "must see" for all movie fans -- and particularly for followers of fantasy-fiction. THE END AD NAUSEUM by Hugh McDonald The man sailed far on a golden bar / And a rusted gold dubloon; / The sea was smeared with hot steam beer / And covered with macaroons. "Food! O Food!" loud cried the man, / "For you I'll sell my soul! / I'll give my life for a buttered knife / Or a cinnamon jelly-roll!" The sea was still, preparing to kill / The man who would barter his Troth / For a herring kippered and ladles dippered / In simmering bowls of broth. Loud cried the sea: "A tomato puree / Is yours with a bucket of grime; / And apples dabbed with poisoned crab / Will be your meal sublime!" "I'll eat your grime," he said, "but Lime / And Coke must be my drink; / Fill my gut with your poisoned food, / And I will fill the sink!" So the man ate well, and lies in Hell / Cradled in basting souffles; / And the sea waned well in a pickled jell / Moulded of papier mache.
