ADDENDA - THE NATIONAL FANTASY FAN STF maglet Vol.1 No.1 August 1948 Edited and issued by Eva Jano Clevenger, 404 East Tenth Street; Connorsville, Indiana. *-----------* A SUGGESTION FROM THE NOBLE MINDS OF EVA JANE CLEVENGER AND K.M. CARLSON. SPREAD THE GOOD NEWS - BUT D O N ' T TELL EDITOR HIGGS AS THIS IS A SURPRISE ON HIM!!!! (Through a [rouge], I willingly "and almost by force" consented to address and mail this months TNFF. The reason - I wanted to add STF. MAGLET which carries to all NFFF members the following. As as [sic] SPECIAL REQUEST both K.M. and I ask that you do not "let the cat out of the bag." This is a SURPRISE on our Official Editor - Ray C. Higgs. Please go along with us.) ON NOVEMBER 8th., our official editor will become another year younger, yes it is his birthday - so K.M. and I got our heads together, - by mail - that is, and decided to put this suggestion before all you loyal members of NFFF. I have been noticing that Higgs has been having a hell of a time with his d--m ol' mimeograph, that's what he has dubbed it, and he has been working so hard and in dead ernest for N3F - I suggested to K.M. that WE SHOULD give him something nice on his birthday. Since he has been giving us such fine work on TNFF and the Index on that "d--m ol' mimeograph", I suggested we ll pitch in and make up a donation, say 1 buck each, and present him with an electric mimeograph on this occasion. So - both K.M. and I have planked down a buck a piece to start things off - and are asking, begging that each and every one of you do like wise. Surely you will do this for a member, yes a personal friend to all NFFF members - one who accepted the offical editorship when only ONE issue of the organ has been presented last year. He stepped in and finished the year with TWO fine issues, and this year has come forth with FOUR issues already, plus Richardson Index, and at the present time is working on one with twenty pages or more, being forced to mimeo 500 copies of each on this d--m ol' mimeograph. Just what other loyal member who would step forward and do this - just for the enjoyment he receives out of it, and because HE IS A LOYAL MEMBER, A FINE EDITOR, AND AN EXCELLENT DIRECTOR!!! He has served well in both jobs, and we owe him this is return. K.M. says, "It is fine to have a steady TNFF, and an editor who so willingly stepped forward and sholdered [sic] all the responsibilites
