CHICANO '73 IN IOWA Chicano Indian-American Student union The University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa April 13 and 14, 1973 Andrew Aguilar is Deputy Director of the Children's Television Workshop in New York. Director of CARISSIMA (Counsel to Advance and restore the image of the Spanish Speaking and Mexican American). Founder of MAPA (Mexican American Political Association). Founder of first Chicano Media Counsel to help create the public service commercial. Manuel Alfaro is Instructor and Coordinator of Chicano Programs at the Center for Urban Affairs at Michigan State University. Has taught high school mathematics and has served as a member of Michigan State Department of School Boards and Board of Education. B.A. Michigan, 1963; M.A. West Michigan, 1969; Doctoral Student, Michigan State University. José Angel Gutiérrez is Nartional Chairman of La Raza unida party. Founder of MAYO (Mexican american Youth Organization). Chairman of Board of Education in Crystal City, Texas. First Raza party member to be elected to a city governmental post. B.A. University of Texas, Austin; M.A. University of Texas, Austin in sociology. Angel Moreno is Chairman of La Raza unida party for the state of Illinois. Member of OLAS (Organization of Latin American Students). Served eight years in service. Columbia College, Chicago, Illinois, junior in communication. Currently 7th Congressional District Independent Candidate. Pedro Raél is a Law Clerk for New Mexico State Santa Fe Court of Appeals in Española, New Mexico. Chester Ruiz is Coordinator of the United Farm Workers of the Midwest in Chicago, Ilinois. Instrumental in coordinating the Lettece Boycott in the Midwest. Daniel Valdez is Director of El Teatro Campesino. Co-founder of Teatro with Luis Valdez in 1965 in Delano, California. Has been one of strongest members and contributors of Raza throughout the nation.
