JANUARY 21
1942 Washed, hung a few outside, but not many on account of big drift. Took nap. tho slept 9 hrs. At Mrs. Pick's from 2-4. We planned our eats for Guild next week. Read all eve.
1943 Adele phoned at 1 and at 4 they and Wilbur Siders came bringing venison and pheasant for dinner for 8. Gave her wax begonia, my glass basket to care for, etc.
1944. 4°, and very windy. Baked angel food for Henkel's and Golden cake and custard. Got red chicken from Buss' and dressed it, getting a bee sting! Read in "God is my Co-Pilot." Hans called from Wash.
1945 Home all day. Hans and I translated 4 installments of "Neils Ebbesen." It goes faster now. He wrote several letters. His mother is making khaki mittens for him.
19° 35° 1946 Sp. Del. cable from Frank, but I could not cable him money he requested, because of N. York Telegraph Strike. Sent it airmail sp. Del. Bought pair of sheets for Wayne and Olive- also 6 washcloths! Got more dope from Dr. Lotaué. Itch very bad in morning- also in nights. Ironed my table linen.
