FEBRUARY 4 1942. Did a little mending, baked peach cake. Icy. Attended first Farm and Home Week for me - rural Drama festival in Union Theatre - "Pioneer Ladies' Aid," "Luncheon for Six," and "Lawyer Lincoln." Rural art exhibit. 1943. Finished ironing - 6 shirts, etc. Washed hose, flannel shirts, etc. Sig [home?] Took Mrs. Roberts and Mrs. Long to S.S. board mtg. at Critser's. Planned joint church dinner for Comm. S. S and "Branch" S.S. 1944. Slept 9 hours! Cleaned, baked bread, mended. Mrs. Dick here to look at rug. K. came home. We all went to M.C. card party at school. I took in $14. at door and punched tallies for 7 tables 500. 6 tables luchre. $22.25 cleared. Home at 12, tired. 9° 6° 1945. Mill "Squawk" Haud dropped in from Ft. Belvoir - Had hour, veg. Waldorf salad, ice cream, for dinner. Big visit. Hilda here for oyster supper. We worked on dansk in eve. I'm working on a letter of Earl Hanson's from Afrika. [21?]° 38° 1946 Went to Chinese classes, now taught by 2 girls - 1 Chinese. Took X ray treatment. Walked from 1706 New Hampshire Ave. to Constitution Ave! At my last mtg with Public Speaker's Bureau in P.M.
