FEBRUARY 18 1942. 0° Took Frank to school. Looked up program material on Gen MacArthur for Guild for Mrs. Cornwell. Darned. Called on Hozel, who isn't well & arranged for Mrs. Schinenn to help her coach 4H play. Wrote Hans & Hilda & Sarah Field 1943. Made honey oatmeal cookies before breakfast. Did mending. Went to Mrs. Henkel's birthday party. Score 1700. Took coffee, etc. brown & print "Sak" apron for her didn't arrive from Pauline who did zig zag work on 5 for us. 1944. My old machine wouldn't sew my good dress - too fine - so Pauline fit it then went home on 4:30 bus. I took her to bus then called on Mrs. Frank Bliss. Frank & I to Ph. Br. card party. He got 1st prize for men. 29° 37° 1945 K. & I walked to church and back, dry shod! Finished reading "Ride With Me." Hilda here- brought us 1 1/2 lb. butter - from Frank Bele. Wrote Signe 52° 1946. We went to bank for Hans' Travelers' Cheques, to P.O. for 2" M.O. to Frank for 175, ordered a portable typewriter. After lunch took Hans' Val Pak & musette bag, made application for my passport, got Hans his Unicaps, a coin purse, more movie film, etc. Saw him off to China with 31 other UNRAA people in special [Pullenams?] on the Liberty Limited. I drove home in heavy traffic.
