FEBRUARY 19 1942. Baked upside down cherry cake. Cold. Ironed 5 shirts for Hans. At Mother's Club, which met in Miss Zilliers' room. 1943. Awake from 5 with tummy ache which kept me down all day. Just did necessary work & baked bread, wrote '15 letters to Hans. 1944. 2° Mopped, cleaned, baked bread. Finished my seersucker dress. K. came out & made pink blouse. Mr. McMann offered me $50 rent for my house (I'm asking $55.) 20° 32° 1945. Awake a while with gas, then slept till after 9. Cleaned out top closet shelf. Read "Neils Ebbesen"; it goes slowly alone. 30° 39° 1946. Awake from 2-5 with much gas. Slept till 8. Cleaned out Hilda's desk; the Marstons and Miss Fitch came for it in eve. I begin a big job of cleaning out a 2 year accumulation and beginning to catch up on letter writing. Drove in to 4th & D Sts. SW. to Public Health Dispensary and got yellow fever shot. Heavy rain in eve.
