FEBRUARY 25 1942. Gordon Herwig brought Hans to Madison, & he got home at noon. Baked cookies. He slept. I went to Happy Hour at Wermuth's. Took Mrs. Daniels to Hallocks' in eve. 1943. Baked bread. Letter from Elsie she is coming on furlough. Sent seed order. & eve - Fell on ice & skinned my knee in eve at school. Sig & I to Madison in P.M 1944. Ironed, inc. spread. Cleaned. Walked to highway, from where Mrs. Rabe took me to Madison for Spirella corset fitting. I also got black gabardine [shols?]. Mrs. Buss, Mrs. Hemming & 4H officers here in eve. 33 56° 1945. An unexpected indigestion. K and I went to church and walked back. Hans in country, in England. Signe has day off, in [Assam?] Grace and "Kirk" here in P.M. She wants me to organize a neighborhood Homemakers' group! Worked on danish letter for Hans. 36° 41° 1946 Washed & hung outside in sun and wind. all dry in 2 hours. Drove to Alex., had head tightened on Ford; ordered new tire (hope I'll get it!) got gifts for Zillie & Skottie's birthdays. Cut out 6 baby kimonos & 2 more sunsuits. Got 2 letters - Hans in Seattle, Frank in Manila, Helen in Detroit, Elsie at Ames
