MARHC 26 1942 Rosa cleaned house for me till 2 o'clock. I waxed linoleums. Got letter Pauline is sick and can't come now. Wrote her + Hilda. Baked bread. 1943. Made grape jelly, cleaned down stairs, took girls' box in, bought revenue stamps for deed to our farm. Saw "Pied Piper". 8 4H girls here in eve. Janet made honey custard, I whole wh. biscuits. Played table foot bell. 1944. Awoke at 3 with worst indigestion for weeks. We ate breakfast at Cottons. Just stayed home all day except supper at HoToy. Read, napped, listened to Churchill. 74° 1945. K. + I did the washing - a fine day. Lilacs in bloom. Made peanut butter cookies. In eve K. spaded in part of Bladen's garden and we put in 2 double rows peas, + lettuce. 79° 1946. Ached too much from shots to go in with Elsie to the Smithsonian. Managed to walk to market. Put in hem in her print chiffon dress. To bed early. Shower in eve.
