MARCH 30 1942. Baked bread + blueberry pie. Hans took K in to 8' oclock. Amy Gerling came at 1:30 for lunch then she + Hans went to Mt. Carroll, Ill. She gave me 8 tulips. 4H program in eve for R.C. benefit. $5.30. I was MC 1943. Very windy + hot. Frank has flu. Dug salsify for soup, wrote R. Comments, to Hilda + Hans. Got last 2 Red Cross contribs + turned money in. Drove to Verona to go to Mt. Horeb with Mrs. Vaughn etc. but missed them - they were late Saw bluebird. 1944. We drove to office + breakfast, later to Alex. for trunk and metal suitcase. Helped Hans on dairy charts, tried to shop. We drove to Bele's, called on Mr. Lauritzen, home at 9:15. 53° 84° 1945 Baked bread, did some cupboard cleaning. Hilda home with sore throat. I went to 1st Cong. chruch at 1:30 with Joyce Bloden to see Cecil B de Mille's "King of Kings". Sent for Time + R. Digest for Frank. 67° 1946. Awake 4 to 5 then Elsie + I both slept late. Put ads, in 25 or so units in Harbor Terrace. Sold studio couch to janitor. Took Elsie in to 6:25 P.M. Southern train to Atlanta, for Warm Springs, Ga. for 3 mo. there. Had 3 sets of callers to look at furniture. Wrote 21 Circle C cards, more magazine notifications, etc.
