1942 Rain in night. We decided to wash + got it all day - a whole yard full, 4 tablecloths, etc. Baked bread. Kathryn begaan to work again at Sak's - $12 a week. Katharin + Luamala of Cloquet, Minn. here for supper. Sat in yard till dark. 1943. Worked in garden in early morn. then rain all AM. Ironed, mended, took nap. Got '15 circle letter - K home for supper - Made cookies. Victor Meuer took us thru. Roasted marshmallow on stony knoll. K + I to Criser's at 9. 1944 Cleaned apartment, made icebox cookies, jellied chicken, etc. Hans drove in and brought out Jo + Kenneth Koch for supper. Used gateleg table, white linen cloth for once. Very HOT. 1945. Polished silver, washed windows, washed lace dress + Red Cross uniform, did a little dry cleaning, repacked my trunk for summer storage, finished my jacket and dress for Janice Siders. Terrific hailstorm at 6:30 P.M. brok 300 windows at Harbor Terrace, inc. 1 in our living room - cut my arm! 1946. Marie + Ross went to Catholic church at 9, the rest of us to Congregational church at 11. Was mistaken for Bess' sister. Herbert Eden came from Sheridan. We drove out to Jean + Harold Bunning's ranch where Bess lived 32 yrs. After supper to a mesa. Saw jackrabbits. Had to take nap, due to high altitude 4000 ft+ Type MTT + to Hans + Elsie
