1942. Chilly - Frank, K, Sig + I went to Madison + shopped. Home at noon. Worked halving weeds nearly all P.M. + eve. Nice day. Slept 8 hrs. each night, first for week or more. 1943. Was comfortable wearing heavy plaid flannel dress all day. Ironed. Janet brought up news. I typed them, RC. + Zo news stories, shopped in Middleton. Worked till 9:20 in garden. 1944. Washed my white table linens to be sunned while I went to nutrition class, then worked on surgical dressings 12:15-3:00. Helped Hans in eve. 1945. Put a bog of moth crystals in Frank's beehives. Lunch at Daniels'. Walked to Branch - called on Kate Whalen, Hazel Z, Wirth's, Juanita Bell, Mrs. Roberts. Supper at Wittenburg's. Called Adele. Overnite at " [I assume this refers to Wittenburgs again] 1946. Breakfast late at Frank's. Hilda had speedometer taken off + brought girls out. i washed my hair in good Oregon water + dried it in sun. Ate cherries from trees. Helped Anna bake bread, etc. Visiting, looking at albums + scrapbooks, etc.
