June 22
1942. Did washing. Turned cold + windy. Kathryn + crew of girls picked 100 qt berries. Horswill's here in eve for the last crate of them. Letter from Hans he may be in Wash. 3 or 4 weeks.
1943. Stayed up from 5 and hoed from 5:30 to 7- then ate + went back to bed an hour! Typed Comments + news (Alice Mae brought up). Walked to Zentner's + went to Guild with them. Trimmed iris stalks + pulled weeds in eve. Tired. Was sec. pro tem at Guild.
1944. Almost forgot to attend our last nutrition class. Presented earrings + pin to Miss Lausden for Class. Tried to get 3 others to go to new Red Cross unit in Abington Recreation Hall. Frava's B washed my windows on outside.
1945. Canned 5 pt. berries. In eve I went to Mrs. John Krajicek's to C.B.I. Wives + Mother's Club. Mrs. Becker showed colored slides her husband took at Ledo, + brot me home afterward. Capt Edgar Levine explained them.
1946 Went in to Woodland with Gene at 9, mailed Nora Waln's "House of Exile" back to Beas, Hazel + Will Scott met + took me thru Municipal Rose Gardi on way to their nice home at 2311 [Maycord?] Ave- out in the country. Helped pick dish of red raspberries.
