1942. K had 4 pickers - only 26 qt. I baked bread, made most of her dress. Was on auditing comm. of Middleton H.S. books at 8. At 9 went to 4H leaders meeting. Dairy Queen chosen. 1943. K. made pink flowered dirndl skirt. I stemmed a lot of berries, made jam, picked peas for 3 pkg, which, with 7 qt. berries I took to locker in eve, then called on Emma Hadley. 1944. (Should be June 27) Hot. Finished ironing, worked on surgical dressings for 5 hrs. Found a piece of voile at Penney's. 1945. After sunny early morning, cloudy but rain held off till eve. I did the washing and ironing, sealed 7 pt. berries, walked to Campustound for stamps, etc. Anne Wilson phoned from Edna Clarke Mitchell's. We heard Pres. Truman at close of San F. Conference. 90º 1946 Ironed some, wrote letters but missed mail carrier. Made gay print skirt for Lorraine Robinson. This afternoon heat makes me drowsy, after San José. Sat in backyard in eve visited with Millie + Paul
