1942. Baked apple crisp salmon loaf, and scalloped potatoes + made veg. jello before church. 66 at SS - 8 in my class. Took nap in P.M. Elynor, Juanita, Alice + Shirley here. Wrote Elsie, Pat + Bertha, + Hans. 1943. Nice day. Washed, inc. 3 rugs, 3 unionalls. Baked choc. chip cookies, made 2 1/2 qt tomato juice, picked half pail lima beans. Hans begins week of vacation. Zillie here in eve. 83° 1944. Washed in spite of clouds, then it cleared. Thru at 11:45. Went to bank, took cot cover in for dry cleaning. Mended K's red dress. Hilda here over night + for supper + made jumper of old blue dress. 80° 1945. Did a big washing. It cleared about noon. Ironed some. 81° 1946 Warmer, sunny. More washing, ironing. Got to bottom of trunk, aired woolen sox, army coat lining, etc. [Tolte?] dansk met [Frk.?] Helen Madsen while we sunned ourselves. Sewed buttons on blue wool dress while chatting with Fru Christensen, on bench outdoors. Letter from Hilda, + wrote her.
