Peiping Chang-Liu Yui Yuan September 23 1942. More rain! Washed sunroom windows + hung fresh curtains, did some other cleaning. Frank still in bed. Mrs. Harker here for supper. Worked on RC scrapbook. 1943. Baked bread, apple crisp, squash. mended, Florence called Hilda. Practised with Janet + Marjorie at 4. They gave nice dem. at Mother's Club in eve. Played 500. Cool- wore 3 piece suit. 56° 64° 1944. Canned 3 pt. tomato juice, baked bread + gingerbread. Sent Kathryn pkg. to Madison. Slept an hr. First time it was comfortable to wear a coat. We drove to Danish Club. Bingo. Brought home 6 dresses to sew for Danish girls. Jacobe[sen?] there. 73° 1945. Baked oatmeal-pecan cookies, dusted, read a little, wrote K- sent her Frank's letter. Fred + Daisy Rossiter + Chet Ellickson here for supper- grape-Waldorf salad, sandwiches, kolaches, ice cream _ cookies + iced tea. Gladys Baker came afterward. Big gab fest + looking at scrapbooks. 80.3° 1946 Hans home all day as very short of breath. Dr. S. Leland, UNRRA, in to see him in P.M. + recommended Dr. Henke of Pres. Hospital. Anna Bog-Madsen helped us finish dansk HIstorie of her trip here from Manchuria. Gave Helen Madsen Am. stamps + mailed letter on my way to Pekin Fotograf Co. for prints. Walked back.
