September 25 29° 1942. Heavy frost. 1/2" of ice Shelled lima beans nearly all forenoon, listening to new Univ. broadcasts. Took 3 qt. + spinach in to locker Went to bank, etc. Z + I heard negro sextette from Utica, Miss. in eve. It snowed! 1943. Walked to Cornwell's for needed groceries, baked bread, apple pies + apple crisp, picked last panful of big lima beans, some flowers, etc. 54° 65° 1944 Too cloudy to wash. Sewed 2 hrs. on danish dresses, but developed a headache. Slept an hr. Mailed [Frank?] box of cookies + [illegible] Went in on 5 o'clock bus, waited for Hans at "Capitol" then we saw "Wilson in technicolor- a good film. Sent Sig her glasses + 2 TIMES. 88° 1945. Baked Bryo-bread very good, + apple crisp. Washed living room windows outside, etc. Mrs. Ruth Mass, Mr. + Mrs. Frank Bele, + Mrs. Grace Rost here for supper at 7- esc Chesapeake oysters, sev. spuds, peas, tomato salad, rolls, apple crisp. Visited till 11. 1946 Cloudy, but took KOdachrome of yellow sweet corn on St between Tung Sou Pai Lu + East Gate. Went after pics, walked home, distributed them among the Danes. Went to hospital right after lunch- there all P.M. Wrote to Mother Skott; typed letters to Denmark, to go with the 14 flying tomorrow. Traded some pics with Coulsons.
