1942 Did big washing. Happy Hours birthday club here in P.M. - Mrs. Schwann, Procknow, Wermuth, Henkel, Whalen, Bischoff and Rodemacher (in Zeigler's place). Mrs. Henkel brot me bouquet and towel; got 3 hdkfs. and vase, 3 glass dishes, a "duck", perfume (from Hazel). 1943 Rain in night. Frank finished at [Rohnlow's?]. Colder. I walked - and ran - to 3:15 bus at Top Hat. Mrs. Dosch agreed to be lib. chm. She and I chose new books at Moseley's. Rainy. I had supper at 4. Worked 3 hrs. on judging canning record books. Home on last bus. Hans to Eau Claire. 1944 57 degrees. 61 Wrapped Ger. dictionary, Sig's clock, old watch and K's pajamas, also cookies to send K. Slept till 10 after Hans went to work as was awake much. More birthday cards. Baked bread. War Chest caller. Hans home earliest yet - 6:15. Hilda here in eve - finished machine work on blue dress. 60 degrees 1945 Slept 6 hrs and for once before working 6-11 at airport. Very busy. Served 421. Hans still no better, got "dry perfume" from Zillie. Windy. 1946 50 degrees, 62 degrees. Slept 8 hrs. straight for once. Cloudy. We went for a very short walk. Read in "Blomstrende Verden" and "Peking", beginning to copy some of latter. Began on black and white film in the Perfex camera.
