1942 Pasteurized 10 gal. honey while baking bread, cleaning and other Sat. work. Dry cleaned 12 neckties. Shopped in the village - my first all week! Mopped messy kitchen at 8 p.m. 1943 Breakfast at Sara's. Church at danske Lutheran Kirke at Withee. Dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Emil H. Hanson's, in German Lutheran Church then to Hanson's. Frost's there. Drove to Medford - nap. Supper, then open forum in parish house, on post war agriculture, led by Hans. More eats. Fine room. 1944 45 degrees, 73 degrees Sunny again. I washed all our 6 windows on outside, with aid of stepladder. Ripped up plaid rayon skirt of Kathryn's. 1945 77 degrees Cut out and began paisley pattern pajamas for Hilda. Mailed dress to Rosemary and pair flower barrettes to Carmin. We sat in sun and hour or so, first Hans has been outside for 10 days - Read dansk. Letter and "Philippines, 1945" hdkf. from Frank. 3 letters for Signe came with "Return to U.S." - so she must be enroute. 1946 46 degrees, 80 degrees Ironed a bit. Shopped at the Clock Store, got 1 yd blue goods for collar on blue kimono. We walked out past East Gate, took several pics, finishing black and white 35 mm film.
