1942 Fine washday, large washing. Frank home with sore throat. To Dr. Muehlmeier in P.M. Wrote Hans and Comments. Picked petunias, pinks. 1943 69 degrees Slept well, as whole trip. Breakfast at Black River Falls, lunch at Adele's at Baraboo. Had flat tire. To Middleton with it then home 2:50. Frank doing big honey business. Baked bread, caught up acct's. Typed Ph. Por. news. Had 2 U.S.O. calls. No furnace fire. 1944 Our week of bright sunshine changed to rain. Baked bread. Sig's letters coming through in 8 days. My dansk article on Sig's being in India was in Danish Pioneer. Cut out dress for Carmin. 1945 Another fine day. Rode to airport and back with 3 others - and all 4 of us kept busy. Served about 600. Some CBI's told me Sig will be in NY tomorrow on the Gen. Morgan! Hans and I walked to Alex and sent 2 films to Frank, camera, film and pj's to Hilda, and 2 LIFE's and scrapbook to K. My feet tired. Hans got new hat. Began on box for Denmark. I got dansk letter from Marie Greisen. 1946 We went into country in forenoon for first time for just 4 weeks. Took pics on all 3 cameras. I got Chinese wedding party and [Moham?] funeral. After tea I went to Old Capitol Photo Shop and got pics. Walked back. Mr. R. Lewis here in eve.
