142 Frank stayed home to pasteurize honey. Baked bread and honey choc. cake. Had tooth filled to stay - hope it will stay for good. Linoleum in "ocean waves". 1943 36 degrees. Washed, hung outside, ironed after supper. Washed the 6 basement windows on outside. Hans had call to inspect Middleton Pet Milk Co., so I shopped and did my last U.S.O. solicitation. 1944 Stayed overnight at Oskar and Camilla's. We and Hans' mother went in to her house for more packing up. Velma's and Olga's came. We and Olga and Orville ate at Maq. cafe. They took us to Delmar for 5:45 train to Chicago. Ate on diner - 1/2 hr. in Chicago. Finally got a berth after we got on homebound train,. 1945 Sewed enough to finish machine work in the 2 little shirts. We walked to church, but left before it was quite over. In P.M. we went to Arlington, visited with Nan Jensen and mother - had "Kaffee". Dan here while we were gone. 1946 In bed most of day. Dysentery. Ate very little. Nice and sunny. Hans took a few pictures. Had several callers - Mrs. Wang, Mrs. Irey, Miss Bott, Mr. Scratch. Wrote some cards and circle letter.
