Mtg. in eve at Olson's new home. 1943 Our train more than 3 hrs. late. Rain in night. Sunny at noon in Washington then cloudy. To Hilda's for lunch. Sewed buttons on my blue dress. Sig and Paul Pownall also ate with us in [illegible]. Sig, H and I saw "So Proudly We Hail" at Circle Theater. At Hilda's overnight. 1944 68 degrees Baked bread, cleaned. I washed and ironed (table linen, etc.) Wrote up Danish Club, went to Fr Hanson's in P.M. then stopped at dentist's for tooth checkup. Warm going. We packed up 4 dresses, etc. in box for Denmark. 1946 37 degrees, 62 degrees Clear, or fairly so. Bus to Drum Tower and Cool Hill. Walked up the 194 steps, took several snapshots and Kodachromes. Bus full, so took pedicab back. Hans went alone to hospital; has made gain this last restful spell. Can be more active, still 1 digitalis daily. We were invited to cocktail party for new UNRRA director for Peiping, Morris Lewis, from Iowa!
