November 15 1942.Took 3 foliage plants to church, on Greta's request. 52 at SS. Rev. Stanke preached again. Took nap. To annual Vesper service at 4:30. Mary Lacey played harp. Z + I + Signe heard Louis Adamic in eve in Mem. Union. 1943. hans + I walked to Wis. ave. for street car to Hilda's. Packed + walked to U.S.D.A. south bldg. Too late for breakfast. Lunch there with Hans + Hilda. Hans took me to 1:15 train. Studied dansk. Wrote R.C. + first dansk letter to Hans. Slept in upper berth. Pullman not full. Some rain in night. 1944. Helped grandma stretch + press green crocheted rug she made for Hilda. In eve Mr + Mrs. Sorensen drove with us to Fall Festival at Danish Club. Bought several Christmas gifts. Helped serve coffee. 52° 67° 1945. Windy + cooler but sunny. Mrs. Story took us to Tarpon Springs where we saw biggest sponge market in world. Hans took pictures of grapefruit, orange, banana, kalamanda + avocado trees. We ate lunch at Clearwater cafeteria. Another good dinner at Story's. Hans to library + I too "Webb's" in eve. 1946. Another fine sunny day. Hans to office in morning. I finished "Glimpses of Peiping" for the Classmate. We finished typed lists of our Kodachromes to send the girls. 3 letters today! I walked to Photo Shop + back- nap till tea time.
