1942 Ironed, baked honey cookies. Made brown and print apron (Sak's pattern) for bazaar and worked on rug. Warm and sunny. Letter from Hans in N.J. 1943 Ironed and did mending. Baked bread. Got iron suitcase, checked thru from Washington, from Mr. Meuer: To Mothers' Club in eve., where cubs became Boy Scouts in Ph Br. Troop 33. I got low again in 500. 1944 30 degrees, 53 degrees. To Alex. to bank, then to Wash. on 9:15 bus. Lola MacLean and I at F.E.A. to hear Dr. Montgomery on "Mess the World is in; What are you going to do about it?" Home 12:25, got lunch for [illegible], as Hilda spent day here. Wrote letters - crocheted on apron. Wrote for MTT. 1945 Awake from 2:30 - 5:30 and felt no good all day. Hans and I walked 2 blocks to pier on Big Bayou - sunned ourselves. Sandwich lunch. Loafed, more sun in neighbor's yard. (Should be 19th) 1946 Wonderful day. I hung a small washing on the roof. Typed story from "Portraits from a Chinese Scroll" - "Insects do not bite Busy People". Walked to Am. P.O. and mailed 7 letters and 2 pkgs. - films. Hans took time pic. of me. To Prof Goodrich's lecture in eve - quite interesting. Got Christmas pkg. from Signe.
