1942. Re-worked the 12 buttonholes in my new blue dress. Frank + I shopped in Madison all AM + sent Hilda's package. Finished "Australian Frontiers". 1943. Not quite so cold. Baked bread. Frank still home in bed. I walked to Mothers' Club at Bischoff's, then to Middleton to get car, Christmas tree, food, books. Got 7 cards - Sent 10. 1944. Had plumber put new gasket in leaky tub. Baked bread, fruit bars. Went to Alex. to mail grandma's pkg. to Helene. Crowded bus; walked back. Several letters from from Signe - from Nov. 15 to Dec. 3. 1945. Hans + Signe went to Quaker Church in Washington. I walked to our church. Signe and I attended National Symphony concert in Constitution Hall 4-6; final no. Sibelius' Finlandia. To Luther Memorial Church where Hans gave his picture talk 6:40-7:20. Mrs. Rost Invited us to her home afterword. 1946. Started to walk north "to the end of Szechuen [?ood]" but somebody must have cut the end off - and besides it started to rain. Spent a couple hours with Hans in his office while our hotel room furniture was waxed.
