December 29 1942. Fired at 7:30 + got K's lunch then went back to bed till 10. Felt better. Sun peeped out so ice wasn't so bad. Drove to Guild- Christmas tea. Worked on acct book all eve. Wrote Adele. 1943. Sunny. Mended hose, ironed, shelled limas, cut out apron Velma gave me. Napped. Studied dansk. 2 1944 Wrote thank you letters - some at Canteen, where we only served 67. Just Ruth Eggers + I. Went to bank + P.O. first. Took my roses. Had candy + fudge to serve extra. So icy we stayed home while Hans went to Danish Club Christmas Party. 33° 43° 1945. Mrs. Cody, Mrs. Priest + I worked at Canteen 7:30-12:00. Don't like noon work. Wore new raincoat. Cleaned, saw Lord Halifax, Sig home from Hopewell. Got pound Epworth butter from Pauline! 1946. We went to Community Church on Ave. Petain with a dozen or so others on UNRRA weapons-carrier. New pastor, arr. Dec. 24 on Gen. Gordon, Rev. Gerald Sravely, preached on post-Christmas theme: "they went back a different way". Ate breakfast + dinner with Jim Hunter + Tom Skuce, in on plane last night. Anne Weaver our supper guest + till 10. She told me Catholic Aurora Univ. needs Home Ec. teacher.
