1948 And windy enough to drive in cold. I cleaned floor ahead of men laying first floor. K & J walked to Royce Goth's - no one home. 24 books out of lib. We signed up for $7000 mortgage. 1949 8 inches snow overnight. No school. Roads cleared by 10:30 so that we drove to O. Olson's for Hans' farm visit. After lunch I went home on 2:40 bus via Sauk City. Home at 4. Red Cross mtg at Village Hall, but only 3 there! 1950 Awake from 5 to 7, up at 8 - slept on bus coming back from Madison, 2:30! My blood count & blood pressure are about normal now. Shopped - got suede shoes, red blouse, scarfs for Kathryn, etc. Baked cake. 1951 Third day of snow sifting down. I drove to church. 11 in our S.S. class - Dr. M. begins his teaching unit. Sig came out on 2 PM bus. We played 500. 98 at Mother - Dau. banquet. I sold more tickets. Very cold. Mrs. H. fine toastmistress - tho she ribbed me plenty. K. took pics of people in recognition. 1952 Hans softened water. I walked to bank in AM to deposit $30 for Guild. Took list of new & non-guild members to Margaret Phelps. Sold dress to Mrs. Daniels, 1 to Mrs. Neumann in PM.
